Hi, I’m Freya.

I live on a Dutch barge called Morgenster in London with my husband Tony.

I got married to Tony in September 2014, together we have an idea for a year and a day wedding. Based on traditional ideas of marriage being a limited time contract we decided to have our “proper” wedding a year and a day after getting married. Our intention was to fill that year before our wedding with a lot of the traditional thing that come with a wedding. For example we want to get wedding photos done, see family, bake our own wedding cake each. Part of this was doing a Monopoly Board pub crawl, over a year.

I went to The University of Birmingham and studied Maths, Archaeology and Computer Science. Whilst at university I did a summer internship as a Software Developer, which I really enjoyed. Upon graduating in 2011 I started working at Ocado Technology in Hatfield, as a Software Engineer. I currently work on a small Agile team developing geographically themed software for Ocado’s logistics arm. I develop applications in Java and Javascript. I have been a Scrum Master, and am very involved in the adoption of Agile and Lean culture in my area. I am currently trying to transitions teams from Scrum (especially Scurm-but) to Kanban.

Freya’d Knot is a Software Engineer from Oxfordshire. Her passion for knitting begun whilst studying Maths, Archeology and Computer Science at The University of Birmingham. Freya’s passion grew as she helped some friends to start a knitting society, teaching other students to knit. The more she knitted, the more she got into it, she particularly enjoys creating 3D pieces.
